As part of the Rosedale Shopping Center expansion project, improvements to the intersection of County Road B2 and southbound Snelling Avenue ramps were required. Improvements include the addition of a second left turn lane for westbound County Road B2 into the mall, a new signal light and ADA sidewalk improvements. The addition of the left turn lane should help reduce some congestion in this intersection.
The Rosedale Shopping Center, the Minnesota Department of Transportation and Ramsey County are paying for the improvements.
Week of October 2 to October 6
Gas utility was onsite this week for relocation in southwest quadrant. Relocation will be complete this week.
Retaining wall is complete with topsoil and turf being placed on the back side.
Subcut for roadway expansion is complete on the southwest quadrant with subcut started on the southeast quadrant.
Week of October 9 to October 13
Class 5 placement will occur in southwest and southeast quadrants with proposed south curbline following shortly after.
Bituminous and concrete work for both the southwest and southeast quadrants is scheduled for this week.
Phase 1 traffic control is in place with lane closures affecting the outside eastbound lane of County Road B2. Snelling Avenue ramp access has been maintained. Median modifications at the Rosedale Mall entrance/exit are complete but traffic controls remain in place reducing the mall entrance to one lane and the mall exit to one lane due to the removal of the existing pork chop shaped curb.
The current TPAR (Temporary Pedestrian Access Route) directs pedestrians to access the mall at American Street by using the north temporary walk. All pedestrian access from the south into the mall at County Road B2 is closed.
