Meeting Minutes

Commissioners Present:
Chairperson Zoe Jenkins, Recording Secretary Brad VanderVegt, Commissioner Don Drackert

Others Present:

      Chief Rick Mathwig

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Jenkins at 1:00PM.

The Agenda for today?s meeting was reviewed and approved as submitted.

3.

The minutes of the September 25, 2012, meeting were reviewed and unanimously approved.

4.

Chief Mathwig presented the commission with an updated 2012 Police Officer Hire List. This list was created following the conclusion of the most recent rounds of interviews. The department drew a total of 405 interested applicants for the position of which 75 were selected for interviews. The number of candidates was narrowed to 17 finalists selected to appear before the Chief?s Panel. Those finalists have been ranked and the list will be maintained by the department. Chief Mathwig reports the department has attracted a well qualified pool of candidates and he is pleased with the caliber of potential officers he has to select from.

Commissioner Drackert, having sat and observed a portion of the interview process, gave high praise for the ?professionalism of the process? and commended Chief Mathwig and his outstanding staff for their work and dedication to the department?s current and future officers.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 2:35PM.
