Wish Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANC) a happy birthday. Join us on April 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for an Earth Day Celebration that marks 26 years since HANC opened.
We’ll have tons of fun including earth-friendly activities, planting butterfly friendly plants, parade, exhibits and new displays, tours, music, crafts, tree planting, and Earth Day birthday cake. At 1:00 p.m. kids from Kinderberry Hill will present “The Great Kapok Tree.”
The first 100 guests will receive a 2016 Chinook Book, full of local coupons, that promote environmental stewardship. Additionally, we’ll give away 200 tree seedlings with two different types of trees. We’ll also give away free seeds packets while supplies last, and visitors can enter a free drawing for a rain barrel, compost bin, and other great prizes.
The Earth Day Celebration is sponsored by Half Price Books, with assistance from community partner, Kinderberry Hill Child Development Center in Roseville. This will be a zero waste event. Volunteers from Eureka Recycling and the City of Roseville will assist with recycling and will answer questions about recycling.
