In July, the state updated its motor vehicle and driver’s license system. Although the transactions are completed while the customer is at the counter, processing the transactions is taking longer than anticipated.
This has created longer wait times at license centers across the state and the Roseville License Center wants customers to be prepared for longer-than-usual waits. Officials are asking that residents budget extra time to renew driver’s licenses or complete other vehicle or fishing or hunting license transactions.
Also, if the line is too long, late afternoon customers may be turned away. License Center staff report that Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays are the busiest days of the week, but until the new system is perfected, they anticipate every day to be extremely busy.
The Roseville License Center operates a “tab only” line for customers who only need to renew vehicle tabs. To speed things along, customers are asked to fill in the insurance information before getting in line.
The Roseville License Center is located at 2737 N. Lexington Ave. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Services include motor vehicle registration, driver’s license renewals and address changes, boat, snowmobile, off-road vehicle and trailer licenses, and hunting and fishing licenses.
