School opening is around the corner, so now is a good time to review the rules of the road. Roseville Police ask drivers to slow down in school zones and watch for kids.
Keep an eye out for walkers, kids on bikes, crossing guards, safety patrols and school buses. Remember, it is illegal to pass a school bus that has its red lights flashing.
The speed limit on most city streets is posted. If it is not posted the speed limit is 30 mph.
Roseville Police remind you that thousands of children are struck by automobiles each year. Walk the school route with your children before school opens and review safety rules including:
- Look both ways before crossing a street or alley.
- Only cross at street corners. Never enter a street from between parked cars.
- Use designated school crossings whenever possible.
