Finalizing a city’s annual budget is a balancing act with many priorities competing for limited resources. City Manager Patrick Trudgeon will present the 2018 proposed budget to the City Council on Monday, August 28.
For the past several months, the Roseville City Council and staff have been listening to constituents, reviewing budgets, and prioritizing community needs. This process formed the basis for the budget Turdgeon will present at the next City Council meeting.
The City Council will then spend the next several weeks reviewing the recommended budget and plan to adopt the preliminary budget, tax levy (also known as the not-to-exceed levy) and the Economic Development Authority budget at its Sept. 25 meeting. The council will hold its final budget hearing on Dec. 4 before adopting the final 2018 budget on Dec. 11.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the process. Follow the Council’s work at www.cityofroseville.com/budgetinformation and attend council meetings to learn more about the budget process and give the council feedback. City Council meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and are open to the public. Attend meetings in person or watch them at www.cityofroseville.com/webstreaming or on Cable Channel 16.
