Winter weather can be a killer in Minnesota – literally. November 6-10 is Winter Hazard Awareness Week, a week to raise awareness about the dangers you could encounter in the winter and what you can do to protect yourself.
Each year, adults and children in our state suffer injuries or death because they aren't aware of essential winter safety practices.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety, together with health and safety agencies across the state, has created a website with information about ways to prevent injury or death because of winter weather. Visit the DPS winter weather webpage to learn about winter storms, indoor and outdoor winter safety, fire safety, winter driving and other topics.
