U of M Students Capstone Project

The City of Roseville invites residents to hear from University of Minnesota (UMN) students who have devoted a semester to studying Roseville’s environmental and land use planning policies on December 13 at City Hall.

Each year, UMN students completing a course in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management take on a real world project that puts into practice what the students had been learning for the past four years. This year, the students undertook a project with the City of Roseville.

Students, working in small groups and acting as consultants, looked at a variety of environmental issues identified by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, including organics recycling, storm ponds, natural resources and asset management. For the past semester, the students collected and analyzed data, and, based on the data, prepared recommendations to the city.

Students will present their recommendations on Wednesday, December 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive. Residents are invited to attend and will have an opportunity to ask questions.
