RSVL A/D will host two Alzheimer’s and dementia related discussions in May, including a talk by internationally recognized Alzheimer’s researcher and expert Dr. William Frey on Thursday, May 3.
Dr. Frey, Senior Research Director in the Center for Memory and Aging at HealthPartners Neuroscience Center, will discuss the latest research in the treatment and prevention of Alzheimer's. Dr. Frey’s talk will take place in the Council Chambers at City Hall starting at 1:00 p.m. and will include information on how to reduce the risk of getting Alzheimer's with exercise and diet. He will also discuss treatments in development for stroke, Parkinson's disease, traumatic brain injury, PTSD and other brain disorders.
On Thursday, May 10, RSVL A/D continues its popular Dementia: Caring & Coping series with a presentation on resources for living at home. The presentation will take place at the Ramsey County Library in Roseville, 2180 Hamline Avenue North beginning at 1:00 p.m. The discussion will feature information on what services are available to assist seniors interested in aging in place. Experts will address issues such as transportation, Meals on Wheels, chore services, home care services and more.
