Does your home need exterior painting or maintenance assistance? You may be eligible for free assistance. Hearts & Hammers provides exterior home improvement help for senior citizens, disabled adults, and veterans.
Previously known as Metro Paint-A-Thon, Hearts & Hammers marshals thousands of volunteers to provide exterior painting and maintenance assistance for homeowners throughout the seven-county metro area each year from June 1 to September 21.
To be eligible, participants must be a homeowner who meets income guidelines, be 60 years or older, have a permanent disability, or be a veteran of the United States Armed Forces or their surviving spouse. The gross monthly household income cannot exceed $2,529 for one person, $3,429 for two people, $4,329 for three people or $5,229 for four. The home must be a single-family home and occupied by the owner.
Applications are available at www.heartsandhammers.org or call 651-636-0797 and one will be mailed to you. Roseville residents can also call Code Compliance Officers at 651-792-7080 to request an application.
Hearts & Hammers accepts applications all season long. Applying does not guarantee your home will be selected. Homes are inspected and selected based on the availability of volunteers, materials and scope of work.
Hearts & Hammers welcomes volunteer groups from companies, community groups, congregations, families, and individuals. If you or a group of your friends or coworkers would like to volunteer to assist a homeowner in need, please call 651-636-0797.
