Beginning this fall, Officer Erin Reski will be Roseville Area High School’s (RAHS) new school liaison officer (SLO). She replaces Crystal Jones, who held the position for two years.
With enrollment of more than 2,100 students, RAHS is a city in itself. It requires more security than Roseville patrol officers can provide, so the school district pays approximately two-thirds of an SLO’s salary to work at the school. The SLO serves in addition to school personnel to provide safety in and around the high school grounds. They form relationships with students and their families, which, in turn, helps promote safety.
During the school year Officer Reski will spend school days at RAHS. She may travel to other schools within the district, as needed. When school is not in session, Officer Reski will return to regular police duty in Roseville.
Officer Reski is a 13-year veteran of the Roseville Police Department. She has served as an Explorer Advisor for five years. Officer Reski is currently a Crisis Negotiator for Ramsey County SWAT and a member of the Roseville Crime Scene team. She is also Crisis Intervention Team-certified. Officer Reski previously served with the Minnesota Army National Guard, completing two deployments to the Middle East.
“The school liaison officer plays an important role while working with school staff to make Roseville Area High School an inviting school to grow as a student and person. Officer Erin Reski has done great work in every position she has occupied while at the Roseville Police Department. The school community is getting a great officer with Erin,” said Police Chief Rick Mathwig.
