Students, join us for a human rights essay contest. The Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission invites sixth, seventh and eighth grade students to write an essay about the impact of social media.
This year's essay question is: Social media and the Internet have a growing presence in our lives. Discuss the role social media has on our communities and what role it plays among you and your friends. How can social media be used to divide our community? How can social media be used to help our community be more inclusive and engaging for all residents?
Contest rules are posted online and distributed to public and private schools in the Roseville Area School District. Students can contact their principal or teachers for information. Homeschooled students are encouraged to participate. Deadline to submit an essay is Friday, January 31, 2020.
Contest rules and additional information are available at www.cityofroseville.com/HRIEC. Last year’s winning essays are also posted there. Contact Assistant City Manager Rebecca Olson at 651-792-7446 or rebecca.olson@cityofroseville.com if you have questions.
