Looking for a fun family outing? Visit the Minnesota OVAL on December 6, 7 and 8 to see great speedskaters compete in the John Rose Open. You may even see some future Olympians in action.
The Minnesota OVAL is hosting the John Rose Open, an open speedskating competition that draws skaters as young as 10 to skaters in their 50s to compete in a friendly competition. Skaters put on an impressive show with some racers skating up to 25 and even 30 miles an hour in the pack race competition on this 400-meter rink.
Stop in any time; admission is free. Skating on Friday, December 6 is from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, December 7, skating is from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, December 8 skating is from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
