Apartment Buildings Receive Rental Licensure

The Roseville City Council issued rental licenses for three multifamily properties owned by G&G Management at its Monday, February 8 meeting. The licenses had previously been revoked because of numerous code violations.

The City of Roseville requires multifamily housing units to meet a minimum level of upkeep to operate. If a property does not meet minimum health and safety standards, the city can revoke a property’s multifamily rental license.

In November 2019, the Roseville City Council approved a resolution that revoked the Multifamily Rental Licenses for twelve buildings owned by G&G Management, citing numerous code violations and life-safety issues. These included a lack of working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in the units, egress doors that did not properly functioning and multiple electrical hazards. Under the revocation, the management company could not rent a unit if a tenant left. No tenants were required to leave the property.

In August of 2020, G&G Management began working with Core Living for property management of all twelve properties. Since September 2020, numerous permits have been obtained to fix roofing issues and to replace window and fire doors and electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems.

G&G Management submitted a new license application for three buildings at 1750 Marion St., 1740 Marion St., and 1722 Woodbridge Ct. The Roseville Fire Department and building inspectors conducted a building inspection of each of these three buildings and recommended issuance of rental licenses for those buildings.

G&G Management and Core Living are working to bring the remaining buildings into compliance.
