[ARCHIVED] Water Efficiency Rebates

Lawn Sprinkler Head

Are your sprinklers leaking, spraying in the wrong direction or running during a rain storm? Are you tired of high water bills? The City of Roseville's Water Efficiency Rebate Program may be able to help.

Homes with automatic irrigation systems use about 50 percent more water than homes without them. Older controllers with timers turn the water on even when the soil is at peak moisture or when it is raining. Broken sprinkler heads leak or spray water on to pavement surfaces where the water runs into the stormwater system, wasting water and costing the homeowners more money.

To help take control of irrigation system’s water usage, the City of Roseville, is partnering with the Metropolitan Council and the Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment, to offer Roseville residents up to $300 off a homeowner’s water bill for upgrading or repairing their irrigation system.

Roseville residents can update their current irrigation system with the help of Roseville’s Water Efficiency Rebate Program. Rebates are available for 50 percent of the cost of adding “smart” controllers and updating sprinkler heads, up to $300 off a resident’s water bill.

Controllers and sprinklers must have the WaterSense® label. Homeowners in Roseville with existing irrigation systems are eligible for this rebate. Installation of new irrigation systems do not qualify. Roseville residents can call 651-792-7004 or visit for information about eligibility and how to apply. Qualifying rebates will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Funding is limited, so apply soon.
