Roseville firefighters had a busy Fourth of July weekend, responding to four building fires and nine grass/rubbish fires. These calls were in addition to the usual medical and safety calls firefighters respond to daily.
The hot and dry weather that Minnesota is experiencing makes ideal conditions for fires to spread quickly. Roseville Assistant Fire Chief Neil Sjostrom reminds residents to be extra cautious.
“Firefighters take tremendous care to protect the life and property of our residents,” Sjostrom said. “This is a good reminder for folks to follow proper disposal procedures for anything hot – fireworks, ashes from a recreational fire, barbecue grill or any other flame.”
