Job Summary:

The Public Works Director is responsible for the overall operations and staff of the Public Works Department directly or through supervisory personnel engaged in the planning and design of the City’s infrastructure and facilities, the maintenance of city streets, utility operations, and maintenance and replacement of capital equipment. 

Scope of Responsibility:

The Public Works Director provides administrative, management and liaison oversight for department policy formation, direction, and budget administration, and represents the department before City officials, the public, citizen groups and other governmental agencies. This position reports to the City Manager. 

The Director is directly or indirectly responsible for all Public Works functions in the City of Roseville. The Director oversees the planning, development, administration, coordination, engineering, and maintenance of the City’s transportation and utility infrastructure and city fleet. 

The Director shall work to develop engagement opportunities, programs and/or service opportunities that improve equity within Roseville and aid the City in achieving the goals outlined in the city’s Strategic Racial Equity Action Plan.
