Next time you renew your license, leave the cash at home and bring your credit card.
The Roseville License Center is happy to announce that beginning September 19 customers can pay using a Discover or Master Card credit card when renewing a license. Customers who use a credit card will pay a 2.45% convenience fee to the bank issuing the credit card.
Customers have long asked to pay by credit card, but the Legislature set the licensing fee and the City could not recoup the cost of processing credit cards.
Most credit card companies do not allow a business to charge a convenience fee to customers who use credit cards rather than cash. Master Card and Discover Card have changed their procedures, and Roseville now collects the convenience fees and transfers them directly to the credit card company.
The Roseville License Center is located at 2737 N. Lexington Ave. near Woodhill Drive. Services include motor vehicle registration, driver’s license renewals and address changes, boat, snowmobile, off-road vehicle and trailer licenses, hunting and fishing licenses and passports.
