[ARCHIVED] Firefighters Needed

Firefighters

Working as a firefighter for the Roseville Fire Department is more than a part-time job; it is the beginning of a career. Are you ready for the challenge?

The Fire Department will begin the hiring process for firefighters in late June. There's an application and information on qualifications and the hiring information on our employment page.

In Roseville, most firefighters work part-time, but could work up to 50 hours a week, depending on the number of emergency calls during a week. Firefighters are paid $9 to $19 per hour, depending on experience and other factors. No experience necessary, but you must live within a 10 minute response time from the station at Dale St.

Firefighters receive paid training and education in fire and EMS. In addition to monthly training, new firefighters are trained and certified/licensed in Firefighter I, Firefighter II, and Advanced EMT. Because of the education and experience firefighters receive while working for Roseville, several of our firefighters have been hired by full-time fire departments.

Roseville Fire currently staffs the Dale Street station fulltime with a crew of five to respond to medical and fire related calls. Shift hours run from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 6:00 am Fire station #2, on Fairview Ave, currently houses apparatus and operates as a call back station.

The Fire Department is in the planning process for building a new station near City Hall. Once the new station is constructed the department will operate solely out of that station.
