It was cheers all around as firefighters, residents and supporters watched Roseville Mayor Dan Roe, City Manager Bill Malinen, Fire Chief Tim O’Neill and others break ground on Roseville’s new fire station.
The new station is being built on the corner of Woodhill and Lexington, the site of Roseville’s original fire station.
The old fire station, built in the 1930s, was outdated and too costly to repair. After years of consideration, planning and council approval, it was demolished last December to make way for the new fire station that will serve the entire city.
The City expects construction on the estimated $9.2 million project to be completed by fall 2013.
