Whether on your way to class or work or running errands, consider riding your bicycle or walking. Check out the bike and pedestrian routes along Fairview, Larpenteur, and Gortner. We’ve added a pathway on both sides of Fairview Ave, signal upgrades with countdown times, street trees and benches, eight foot wide pathways and on-street bike lanes. The new routes make it easier and safer than ever to get around the area – from Rosedale Center and the University of Minnesota to Minneapolis and St Paul!
Join the cities of Roseville, Falcon Heights and Lauderdale and the University of Minnesota and Bike Walk Twin Cities (a program of Transit of Livable Communities) and celebrate the new routes. We kick off with a celebration at noon on Thursday, November 1. You can enjoy celebratory activities and local food and beverages – Mim’s Café falafel sandwiches, Saint Paul Classic Cookie Co. cookies, and coffee donated by Peace Coffee (while supplies last), then join us for a group ride from 1:00 to 2:30 pm, rain or shine. Free goodie bags to the first 20 group riders. We'll visit Gibbs Museum, Evergreen Park and Rosedale Center.
Meet at the Department of Horticultural Science Display & Trial Garden, corner of Gortner and Folwell. (Rain location: Cargill Building for Microbial & Plant Genomics, 1500 Gortner Ave.) at the U of M St Paul Campus.
Please RSVP for the group ride at briw@tlcminnesota.org or 651-789-1403.
