[ARCHIVED] Trudgeon Named City Manager

Pat Trudgeon

The Roseville City Council voted unanimously on Monday night to approve a contract naming Patrick Trudgeon City Manager.

Trudgeon, who has been employed by the city since being named Community Development Director in November of 2007, has served as Roseville’s Interim City Manager since May of last year.

“Pat proved himself worthy of permanent appointment during his time as Interim City Manager, being responsive to the city council and to the community,” Mayor Dan Roe said. “We look forward to building on that foundation going forward.”

While serving as Interim City Manager, Trudgeon successfully guided the city through a challenging 2014 budget process, improved communication between the Council and City Administration and helped better position the overall staff structure at the city for the future.

“I am honored that the City Council has given me the opportunity to serve the community as City Manager,” Trudgeon said. “There are exciting things happening in Roseville and I feel fortunate to be in a position to help guide the city toward an even brighter future.”

Trudgeon possesses an extensive background in municipal government. He originally came to Roseville from the city of Ramsey, Minn., where he served as the Community Development Director for seven years. He has also worked as the Planning and Development Director of North Branch, Minn., as a City Councilmember in Beloit, Wis., and as a lobbyist in Wisconsin.

Trudgeon, 47, holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He and his wife Joanna, a math teacher in the White Bear Lake School District, have three children – Mara, Colin and Molly.
