Join us on June 30 as we celebrate the Roseville Community Band’s generosity for bringing music to the community and serving as arts ambassadors for 50 years. And join us as we recognize women’s hockey star Lee Stecklein.
This distinguished group and honored individual will serve as Grand Marshals and Youth Grand Marshal of the 2014 Rose Parade on June 30.
In 2014, the Roseville Community Band celebrates fifty years of music to the community. Starting as a community band in the early 1960s, the band played at Fourth of July celebrations at Central Park. Before long they were playing at other venues. Since then the Roseville Community Band has grown into one of the top community bands in the Upper Midwest.
Stecklein, who will serve as Youth Grand Marshal, is a member of the U.S. Women’s National Ice Hockey Team. She is a Roseville Area High School alumna and plays on the University of Minnesota women’s hockey team. She was a member of the 2014 Women’s Ice Hockey Olympic silver medalist team.
The Rose Parade is one of the biggest in the Twin Cities. The parade begins at 6:15 p.m. It will have 90 units, including 11 marching bands in the parade.
If you can’t join us in person, watch the Rose Parade live on Cable Channel 16 or CTV 15. The parade will be replayed on both cable stations. See the Channel 16 schedule at www.cityofroseville.com/cable or the CTV 15 schedule at www.ctv15.org for dates and times.
