[ARCHIVED] Join an Advisory Commission

The Roseville City Council is seeking applicants for vacancies on several commissions. Commissions serve as voluntary advisory boards to the City Council.

Deadline for applying is Monday, March 2. Interviews will be held on March 9. Times will be determined depending upon number of applicants. Interested residents may complete the online application or call 651-792-7001 and one will be mailed to you.

– Two vacancies
The Ethics Commission advises the City Council on matters involving the City’s ethics code, administration of the ethics code and other responsibilities delegated by the City Council. The commission meets quarterly.

Finance Commission – One vacancy for partial term that expires March 31, 2017
The Finance Commission focuses on the budget process, financial policies, recommendations on funding strategies for the capital improvement plan and budget goals and objectives in such areas as local tax rate and spending targets. The commission meets the second Tuesday of each month.

Human Rights Commission – one vacancy for partial term that expires March 31, 2016
The Human Rights Commission provides a method for citizen input concerning human rights issues and promotes a positive human rights climate in the community through public education. The commission meets the third Wednesday of each month.

Parks and Recreation Commission – Two vacancies for full terms and one vacancy for partial term that expires March 31, 2016
The Parks and Recreation Commission provides for citizen input concerning parks and recreation facilities, programs, needs and concerns. The commission identifies areas, which may require action or change to promote a safe and responsive Parks and Recreation program. The commission meets the first Tuesday of each month.

Planning Commission – Two vacancies
The Planning Commission provides a forum for input into specific planning applications and development plans and policies. The Commission identifies significant issues and makes recommendations to the City Council. It meets the first Wednesday of each month.

Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission – Two vacancies
The Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission advises the City Council and staff on public works, environmental and transportation matters. The commission maintains an interest in and an understanding of the Public Works Department and in federal, state, county, regional and other services that impact the City’s public works functions. They meet the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Commissioners are appointed to serve a three-year term that begins April 1, 2015, through March 31, 2018, unless filling a partial term. For more information on advisory commissions, visit the Commissions web page.
