The City of Roseville and Code Enforcement Officer Dave Englund will be ramping up the Neighborhood Enhancement Program in June. Over a three-year cycle, Englund walks every neighborhood in Roseville.
Englund walks past every commercial and industrial business, including multi-family properties and public buildings. He also walks past all residential properties, looking for maintenance issues or code violations. That’s a lot of walking!
Since 2008 city staff has proactivity walked through neighborhoods, identifying violations when they are small and working with residents to resolve them before they become major problems. The Roseville Housing and Redevelopment Authority funds the program.
Englund expects to inspecting about 3,200 homes this summer. Staying on city streets, he will walk past homes looking for common public nuisance violations. Residents in the neighborhoods where Dave plans to visit will receive a letter about three weeks before his planned inspections. He’ll include information on common code violations and suggestions to make repairs. The information is also available at www.cityofroseville.com/NEP.
Most common violations
- Outdoor storage
- Building maintenance (peeling paint, etc.)
- Junk, debris, brush piles
- Commercial equipment in residential areas
Where’s DaveRain or shine, Dave Englund will be hitting the streets. You can keep track of Dave at
www.cityofroseville.com/NEP. To make it interesting we’ll keep a running tally of the number of steps Dave walks each day. He will also report on the cutest pets he sees, and he may even pose for selfies with residents and post on our Facebook page at
