Master Plan Renewal Program
On May 12, 2014 the City Council approved all 11 Parks and Recreation Renewal Program Packages. We are now moving forward with construction on a number of projects. More information on project construction will be found in the Parks & Recreation 2014 Fall Brochure. The relevant pages from the brochure can be found by clicking the link below. Buildings, Shelters and Site Work
Six park buildings have been or will be demolished and re-constructed. Lexington Park, Sandcastle Park and Villa Park buildings are under construction now with a completion date early this fall (2014). Work on new buildings at Autumn Grove, Oasis Park, and Rosebrook Parks will begin this fall (2014) with completion estimated in the spring (2015). Refurbishing work will begin this fall (2014) on three picnic shelters (FOR Parks Shelter at the Dale Street Athletic Fields, Central Park Foundation Shelter and the Central Park Victoria East Softball fields complex) with a spring 2015 completion date.
The playground projects at Howard Johnson, Langton Lake @ County Road C, Materion and Central Park East (Ballfields) Parks have been completed. The playgrounds at Acorn Park and Langton Lake ball fields will be replaced this fall (2014). And the playgrounds at Bruce Russell, Central Park Lexington, Central Park Victoria West, Mapleview, Oasis and Villa (Upper) Parks will all be completed by the spring of 2016.
The Skating Center will get a facelift with exterior painting and improvements. Projected start date is mid-August 2014, with an October completion.
Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANC) Improvements
In the HANC building, the mechanical and electrical systems will be upgraded and the interior and exterior building will be renovated, starting in the summer of 2014, completion in the spring, 2015.
Bridges and Boardwalk
Three bridges in Villa Park will be replaced along with the boardwalk at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center. Work will begin this fall and completed by spring of 2015.
Lighting System Installation, including Courts, Rinks and Lake Bennett Trail Lighting
Lighting and control systems will be upgraded at 6 tennis courts, 4 rinks, 2 basketball courts and a pedestrian lighting system on the trail at Central Park Lake Bennett. Work is scheduled to begin this fall (2014) and completed this winter (2015).
Tennis Court Reconstruction and/or Resurfacing
Tennis courts will be refurbished at Acorn Park, Autumn Grove Park, Bruce Russell Park, Evergreen Park, Howard Johnson Park, Pocahontas Park, and Sandcastle Park as will the basketball courts at Autumn Grove, Bruce Russell, and Sandcastle Park. Work is scheduled to begin this fall (2014) and completed by the spring (2015).
Field improvements will be made at Central Park Dale West (Legion Baseball Field), Central Park Victoria East Softball Field Complex and Evergreen Park. Work is scheduled to begin this fall (2014) on some of the fields with completion of all by the fall of 2015.
Irrigation Replacement and Upgrades
Irrigation improvements will be made to Acorn Park, Autumn Grove Park, Central Park Dale Street West, Central Park Lexington, Central Park Victoria East, Evergreen Park, Langton Lake Park, Lexington Park and Rosebrook Park. Control upgrades are projected to be completed by the fall of 2014.
Interpretive signage will be placed system wide and natural resource restoration work in 22 of the 30 Roseville parks are scheduled to be completed by the spring of 2016.
Disc Golf Course Improvements
The disc golf course improvements at Acorn Park will begin with nine holes completed by this fall (2014) and the remaining nine holes by the fall of 2015.
Sidewalks – County Road B2 and Victoria Sidewalk
A sidewalk will be constructed along County Road B2 from Lexington to Rice Street and along Victoria from County Road B to County Road C. This project is well underway now (summer 2014) and all projects will be completed by the spring of 2016.
Sidewalk/Pathways at various park locations
Pathway connections will be constructed at Pocahontas Park, Howard Johnson Park, Langton Lake Park, Upper Villa Park, Mapleview Park and Evergreen Park. Work is scheduled to begin in the spring (2015) and completed by next fall (2015).
